About the Atelier

Foundry 17 is where traditional manufacturing fluency meets modern digital intelligence. We teach beginners to read metal, speak G-code, and deploy machine learning for adaptive toolpaths and real-time quality control.

Our workshop floor is equipped with industrial CNC mills, collaborative robot arms, and precision measurement cells. You will not watch from a distance. You will calibrate fixtures, interpret vision-system outputs, and ship parts that meet aerospace tolerance.

Skills

CNC Programming

Program 3-, 4-, and 5-axis toolpaths with adaptive clearing and AI-assisted collision avoidance. Understand speeds, feeds, and fixture coordinate systems from first principles.

Robotic Fabrication

Teach robot arms to weld, deburr, and pick-and-place using vision-guided coordinate frames. Work with FANUC, Universal Robots, and custom end-of-arm tooling.

Machine Vision

Build inspection pipelines that detect surface defects, measure critical dimensions, and guide robots. Calibrate cameras, lighting rigs, and lens distortion models.

Precision Manufacturing

Hold tolerances that matter. Learn geometric dimensioning, CMM operation, surface metrology, and process control using SPC and automated feedback correction.
